Comparison

Springboards.ai and AxonCraft what each one is for.

They get compared because both put AI in front of creative teams. They are built to do opposite halves of the job. Here is an honest read on which half you need, including where Springboards is the better buy today.

The short answer

Springboards is built to widen the search. AxonCraft is built to narrow it and finish the work.

That is not a marketing distinction, it is their stated design goal. Springboards describes itself as "a creative model to inspire, not give you the answers", and engineers for variation. Its own claim is covering 10–30× more creative territory than a general-purpose chatbot. Divergence is the product.

AxonCraft starts where that ends. It builds an idea with you, runs it through a jury-style critique that cuts the weak ones, and turns the survivor into a pitch-ready deck, a case board or a social campaign plan. Convergence is the product.

What Springboards does well

It is the more established product and it deserves the reputation. Founded in Australia by two former agency strategists, backed by $5M in seed funding from Blackbird Ventures, and supported by 120+ agencies worldwide.

The team-collaboration story is genuinely strong: shared boards, templates and profiles, guest access, and on the top tier SSO and a dedicated success manager. If several people need to riff in the same space, that is built and proven.

And the ideation itself is the thing they have optimised hardest. If your bottleneck is "we keep landing on the same three territories", that is precisely the problem they set out to solve.

Where Springboards beats AxonCraft today

Three places, stated plainly.

  • You can start right now. Springboards has a free tier and self-serve paid plans from roughly $30 per user per month billed annually, as listed on their pricing page in August 2026. AxonCraft is invite-only and public billing is not open yet.
  • Multi-seat collaboration. Springboards supports teams of up to 20 on a standard plan, with SSO and onboarding above that. AxonCraft is currently built around one person doing the thinking.
  • Track record. $5M in funding and 120+ agencies is evidence AxonCraft simply does not have yet.

What AxonCraft does differently

The output is a finished artefact, not a wall of stimulus. Ideas come out as an editable PowerPoint or Google Slides deck, an award-style case board, or a channel-by-channel social plan — the things you have to walk into a room holding.

And the engine argues back. Every idea goes through a structured critique that scores it and says why it would fail, so what you get is a shorter list with reasons attached rather than a longer list to sift. If your bottleneck is "we have twenty ideas and no way to defend one", that is the gap it was built for.

How to choose

Be honest about which half of the job hurts.

If you are stuck at the blank page and need to get out of the obvious territories, Springboards is the more mature tool and you can be using it in five minutes. If you have the idea and the pain is proving it and packaging it into something sellable, that is AxonCraft.

They are not mutually exclusive, and plenty of teams would sensibly run both. We would rather say that than pretend one replaces the other.

Try it on a real brief

Reading about it only goes so far. AxonCraft is invite-only while the beta runs. Request access and put one of your own briefs through it.
